Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Our commitment
VIP Speech is built to help everyone become a more confident speaker —
and that includes making the app itself usable by people with disabilities.
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, applied to our mobile apps, and
we treat accessibility as an ongoing engineering practice, not a one-time
checkbox.
Accessibility features in VIP Speech
- Screen reader support. Buttons, tabs, toggles, images,
and progress indicators carry labels, roles, and state for VoiceOver
(iOS) and TalkBack (Android). Purely decorative visuals are hidden from
assistive technology.
- Adjustable text size. Lesson and exercise text can be
enlarged in-app (Profile → Accessibility → Lesson text size), in addition
to honoring your device's system font-size setting. Content wraps and
scrolls rather than being cut off.
- Reduced motion. When your device's "Reduce Motion"
setting is on, looping and decorative animations are replaced with their
end states throughout the app.
- Contrast. Text colors are tuned for legibility against
the app's dark theme, targeting WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Feedback through multiple channels. Exercise feedback
is conveyed through text and color together — never color alone — and
haptic feedback always accompanies a visible state change.
- Touch targets. Interactive controls meet or exceed
comfortable touch-target sizes, with extended tap areas on smaller
icons.
Known limitations
- User-generated video. Practice videos shared by users
are recorded by the users themselves and do not include captions. We do
not currently provide automatic captioning for user-generated content.
Any instructional video we publish ourselves will include captions.
- Default lesson layout. At extreme system font-size
settings, lesson text scaling is moderated to keep exercises usable on
one screen; the in-app "Lesson text size" setting provides larger text
with scrolling layouts instead.
Feedback and assistance
If you encounter an accessibility barrier in VIP Speech — anything that
is difficult or impossible for you to use — please tell us. We take these
reports seriously and prioritize fixes for access-blocking issues.
- Email: [ACCESSIBILITY-CONTACT@vipspeech.com]
- Please include your device model, operating system, any assistive
technology you use (e.g., TalkBack, VoiceOver), and the screen where the
problem occurred.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business
days and to resolve access-blocking issues as quickly as
possible.
Conformance status: VIP Speech is partially conformant
with WCAG 2.2 Level AA — most content and functionality conforms, with the
limitations noted above. This statement was prepared following an internal
accessibility audit in June 2026 and is reviewed when significant features
ship.
